There are many causes for loose dentures, the most common cause is that the gums have resorbed under the denture which causes the denture to no longer fit properly. A reline is then required to improve the fit, especially in cases where patients have had teeth extracted.

To clean your denture use a soft toothbrush and warm soapy water. Denture cleaning tablets/products can also be used. Do not use toothpaste.

The most common cause is loose clasps which can be tightened.

A reline is a same day procedure requiring an appointment between 9.30 – 10.30am and a fitting appointment in the afternoon.

Dentures should last between 6 to 10 years or possibly longer depending on care and maintenance with proper cleaning and relining every 2 to 5 years.
